AUSTIN – (April 20, 2017)  The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved by resolution financial assistance in the amount of $900,000, consisting of a $70,000 note and $830,000 in loan forgiveness, from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to Nueces County on behalf of Cyndie Park 2 Water Supply Corporation. The County will use the assistance to finance the planning, design, and construction costs associated with water system improvements.

The financial assistance will allow the County to build a waterline from the Cyndie Park area to connect to the Nueces Water Supply Corporation's (NWSC) existing water distribution system at the Indian Trails subdivision. This will allow customers of the Cyndie Park 2 Water Supply Corporation and residents of the nearby Ranch subdivision to become new customers of the NWSC. The project also includes a 100,000-gallon ground storage tank, two 400-gallon-per-minute pumps, and other water system improvements.

The TWDB is the state agency charged with collecting and disseminating water-related data, assisting with regional planning, and preparing the state water plan for the development of the state's water resources. The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
